Frequently Asked Questions

should you not see your question, please drop us an e-mail at our tie dye hotline!

Who is Grandma Weezer?

Grandma Weezer is my mom and our logo.  It was perfect until she changed her hairstyle and glasses!

What size should I buy?

In order to set the colors, we wash all the items 2x in cold and 1x in hot.  Then we toss them all in the dryer.  The rule of thumb is to order a size larger on the tee shirts than you normally do because our products are either 100% cotton or very close!  The jackets do run small.

How soon will I get my order - oops - request?

If we don't respond to your request right away, it means we are not home and will respond when we can.  If we have your shirt in stock, we can ship it out right away, if we have to make it (or if it is a larger order) it might take a week or two.  Once you pay for the item, it will be shipped ASAP!

Can I pick out my own colors?

SURE!!!!  Let me know what colors you are thinking and we are more than happy to give them a try - if you don't like the e-mailed photo, I'll add the item to the racks and sell it at a festival.  Not all colors play nicely with one another.  It is usually best to remember the color wheel - according to GWS, that is!   (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Turquoise, Dark Blue, Orchid, Violet)

What colors do you regularly carry?

Pinks, Red, Orange, Bright Yellow, Golden Yellow, Bright Green, Forest Green, Turquoise, Midnight Blue, Navy Blue, Orchid, Violet, Ecru, Bronze, Olive Green, Chocolate, Camel, Grey . . .)

Are there breaks in pricing for larger orders?

Send us an e-mail and we will try and work something out!

How should I wash my really cool tie dye?

Wash with darks and toss in the dryer!  We recommend washing in cold because such is better for the environment!

Where do you buy your supplies?

Dyes: We use Procion dyes from Dharma Trading Co. and use double the amounts.

Soda ash: Arm & Hammer laundry detergent - the yellow box and it must be in the powder form.  We start with 3-4 cups of detergent with 1 c of non-iodized salt in

the washing machine.  Let it agitate and dissolve on low.  Then add more water and clothes.  It is important that the clothes have some space to move about in

the water so don't just cram them in!

Urea:  we buy large bags of it from Tri County Stockdale in Joliet, Illinois.  You can also order from the Dharma Trading Co.
